I need to model a reinforcement ring for a sheet metal filterI first shaped an open ringthen I did the sectors with extrusion to removebut if I do the development, the fins do not develop.What would be the correct procedure so that the fins are also vulnerable?
I did a successful test using the following procedure:
1) created an open ring of sheet metal;
2) with profiling command I created flanging (necessary to use this or does not develop)
3) used the command explains to "plan the sheet"; one explains to open it by holding the flange, to spy also the flange you need another
4) made my cuts substantially as I would do them starting from the flat model and then rolling;
5) folded etc. etc.
note: after writing this I tried to create cuts directly without explaining/repair, which at first failed me: with the size command I can't, with extruding yes but I think there are still "sporty" lines on the dxf for the laser on the fold area but the flat model comes out.
thank you for the answer.
Unfortunately I don't use too much sheet commands, so I tried but I can't do the first 3 points.
how do you create the open ring with a simple revolution of a rectangle or use "flangia contour"?
When you do the edge profiling, do you use a sketch line?
You can send attached photos to better understand a video or better. Thank you.
I resume this discussion because the pieces arrived and there is a remarkable difference (20 mm) between the length of the calculated development and what you should have to get the outer ø of the crown. I saw that the development "high" immediately after doing the profiling phase (see cal-2 photo), shortens.
