Good morning.
I am to you today with the following question.
I have to make the piece attached. It is made of 2mm thick sheet and is a little less than a meter long. I'll make a few pieces, say a couple at a time.

I have heard our mechanical supplier (which, however, has the processing of outsourcing sheet) that tells me that it is very complex to realize that front curve part (the only undevelopable part, to understand), and suggested to find a polyhedratic solution.
I would not like to make the polyhedra surface, both for aesthetic reasons, and especially for reasons of bulk.
I wonder and ask you, is it really so difficult/convenient to press this piece? Is it possible to disengage everything except that curve, find it from trade and weld it? other solutions?

Thank you very much

p.s.
the only curved part has a bending radius of 80mm and an external diameter of 300mm.

hi according to me it is not particularly difficult to do, you can do with a slab turn a dome and then split it in half and cut the cap above.
only that finding one with a lathe and then you have to make the shape becomes a cost not indifferent.
However with a lathe on the plate I think you can do it without big problems

Hi.

to do so you do, but you should break it in different parts that will then be welded to form the final carter.

I would disassemble it as an image attached to 4 pieces
1- a simple metal sheet
2- laser cut bottom
3- laser-cut tank and for the curved part I would make a series of close folds so as to give the rotondity
4- the half cap instead if it has to be made so you have to get it from a funnel, I would make a whole cap that then I would cut in 2 half.
5.6 that I did not indicate on the image- the 3 reinforcement handkerchiefs and the 2 plates obtained from the laser

all then to be soldered.
this for me is the least painful solution to recreate the picture carter.
Hi.

Well... Who does that to me?
send me a quote in mp, even preliminary, which then can be agreed on small changes?

Thank you.

I answered you from a technical/constructive point of view then I do not carpentry, if you do a research in Tuscany to find someone I think there is no problem. look for example who does carpentry for pharmaceutical and food sector where sheet metal objects with particular shapes are made.
However one thing is certain they won't do it with a lot of money. .
a simple search with google then you have to choose the most suitable.
