hello to all, I would like to customize the sheet meta design module of solidworks to make packaging. looking on youtube I fished this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzcvagebewe where the user uses a database of materials built by plasterboards. . Does anyone know how to customize sworks this way?

What do you mean by "personalizing"?
1)-the method used to give thickness to the sheet ? (has compiled a data table that uses for thickness and calculation withdrawal/extension development)
2)-the method used for development ? (it is evident from the video that development had already had, it only had to bend the bullet....)
3)-or the graphic appearance of the cardboard? (with a suitable texture is a moment)

consider that in 13 years of solidworks (from 98 to 2013beta) I never have
felt the need to create a table... But maybe one day I'll get busy and learn that too.. .

practically with the table you have the possibility, depending on the material, the thickness, the fold radius and how much more to automatically parameterize the folds.
I've always missed the fact that the plates have variable behavior
and sometimes I had to correct the k factor based also on the sheet metal supplier.
but I don't want to scare you, they are differences around a few tenths of mm, but as we often create sheet metals with many Greeks you understand that if I have a inconsistency of 2 tenths in fold I arrive half sheet that I have already screwed 4-5 mm like nothing. . .
