shooting with catia

in our company after working a surface with an operation that we call finishing we pass to the processing of channels, in fact if the finishing operation has been carried out with a 10mm radius spherical milling it is normal to think that, if there are channels whose radius is <10mm, they can not be processed in the finishing operation as the tool does not enter you inside.
to obviate to this we carry out the recovery operation by passing the cutters away by a smaller radius (rough 5 4 3 2 1.5).
catia (as well as all other cam software) provides the shooting area command (see imm1) that virtually analyzes the surface by identifying the various channels to work. .
in the screen that opens (visible in imm2) the various parameters are set like the surface to work, any limits and offset on the surface itself)....
the problem that happens often consists in the fact that the channels are not perfectly regular (channels with constant radius) but can present some small imperfections. . .
catia in this case is very sensitive and pignolo and goes to identify between the channels that make up the surface only those whose radius corresponds to the one required.... if the channel is not regular often happens the problem visible in imm2 i.e., are selected of the dotted areas. ...
If processing on the finished piece is now going to appear unsightly processes.....
tebis from this point of view is phenomenal because it allows manually to combine all these traits by making sure that the tool always remains in contact with the surface and working the channel for all its length, in this way you get an aesthetically excellent result. ...

I discovered that by changing the visible paramentro in imm3 all the traits identified before are now united with a single curve... So in this case, the channel is worked without that unexplained deduction effect.

The question I ask is the following....

what exactly does the parameter indicated in imm3 serve?? I followed a caty course and of course it is unthinkable that my instructor could have explained to me by thread and by sign all the vestments of all the work that it is possible to create with catechism... Since the assistance has gone (the crisis has made us cut all the expenses) I ask you if there is anyone who can explain the meaning and function of the various vestments of this hateful processing

Good evening, can anyone please explain to me how to use the "return area" command? I would like to use it to eliminate the channels left by the mill, but at the moment I am not able to make it work.

Thank you in advance. . . :

Hello
I for work plastic molds use both tebis and catia. tebis in the radius is 100 mogliore of tebis. However, that overlapping parameter (it is a percentage of the diameter) refers to what you want, for example, the d2 milling overlaps the processing to the finished surface made with the d4 milling. i.e. part of the surface made with d4 would not need to be reworked but with the overlapping clashes of tot mm which is a percentage of the diameter of the d2 milling. This explains that if you had a processing at times then giving the tool the possibility of "until" then it can work better without or with less interruptions. greetings

Hello

too difficult to be explained with a message. it takes screen sharing with skype.

I have problems similar to those of the user above... Unfortunately for me catia v5 is a novelty. interface with a cn fanuc 31, fresa cms to 5 axes but actually used as 3!! ! !
I'm really going to be fine and now, after a preliminary course of only 16 hours, I'm stuck (should prove what I'm doing!!) on the eventual footage that I'm going to have to do with a 2-hour spherical mill and then with a 1-inch spherical, I'm going to have to follow the track for the lamina - as I make molds and models of carbon or fiberglass for the automotive!
Can anyone help me?
Maybe on my mail I give you drawing and already calculated routes! ! ! !
thanks to anyone who even lost time reading my message and my mail is:igor978.ip@gmail.com

Hello everyone,
I also have problems, regarding the creation of a shooting area all right. If instead, once the area is created, I want to remove some areas or cut others, I remember the course, they showed me that you could do it, in fact I never managed it! Can someone give me some disappointment? ? ?
Thank you in advance.. .

hi, to cut the shooting areas you have to insert points, then create a subaxieme and select those areas you don't want to work
alessandro

thanks to theex for the prompt response,
I have tried several times but I just can't get rid of the areas, you can't kindly send me some pantry or anything that indicates the exact procedure... thank you very much even if you can't help me! !

hi, as an attachment, select the subset you want to divide, then "divid subset", and with points (eye) click on geometry and do ok.After you relocate the subset and you will see that you can select the segments between points (which will change color).
I can't load the attachment (line problems) I try in a whilecatia.webp
