hi to everyone, I often follow the forum, source of important info! Now I am in trouble and I ask you for help: I should shape an oval-shaped tube. this is easy, and I get it through the command "travel protrusion", but this ellipse, will then be folded upwards of a certain radius of curvature (takes in practice the form of a patatin). How can I do that? ?
I attach image x let you understand what I have to get.
Thank you all!

I think you can create it using the "cross" command. (at least in the st is called so).
in practice the command that allows you to create a line as sum of two lines. with one do the embellishment while with the other the curvature. I think it can work. If I have a moment, I'm curious too.

It works as I told you.
here is the file (even if they told me that I am the only one here to use the st2  )

It works as I told you.
here is the file (even if they told me that I am the only one here to use the st2  )
this morning the parcels of the st2 arrived to me (3 licenses)...but as
already said I wait at least another service pack before switching to st2

in v19 I think the command is called "transverse curve" or something.

in any case before the advent of this command two surfaces could be extruded and the intersection curve could be drawn, or a surface and projected over the curve.

so if as data you have:

curve + curve : transversal
curve + surface : projection
surface + surface : intersection

Hi.

thanks to all x the answer, but I don't think I understand: I guess there's no tutorial, otherwise you would have already inserted the link... Can you (especially be_on_edge) give me some more info? to start with the right foot. . .

ps: Do you think it is possible to make with this form a tube, i.e. empty inside?, so as to have the right weight.

Thank you again!

Of course, just extrude two concentric circles. . .

o.t. : I st2 found it immediately much more stable than st1 and after two service packs it is even better. never plant except that on animations (but that to me also happened with 19)

then, in the meantime I thank be_on_edge, I managed to create the "patatina" by making a sketch with the ellipse and another sketch for bending! thank you therefore, even if I did not understand:

"curva + curve : transversal
curve + surface : projection
surface + surface : intersection

x Leso: when I try to extrude 2 concentric circles it gives me error (both by selecting it from the sketch that drawing it on a plane), but maybe I mistake, I just can't.

but now I'm arguing another atrox: I have to weld pipes in various positions on the tube of my shape, how can I do in assembly to correct the 2 pieces? ? ?

Thank you again!

hi dark to realize the tube must create on a plane the curve that mirrors the (form of a pan) and extrude it creating a surface.
once the surface is created with a perpendicular plane to the previous one and realizes the curve (elisse) and then project it to the surface.
In this way you get the path of your pipe, to make it recessed: you can use the command thin walls, if not I would recreate the protusion but with emptying section and then perform a boolean subtraction.
Hi.

x stone: yes, to create the tuvo, I applied a slide excavation. I solved it right now. Thanks anyway!
