Good evening to all,

It is recently that I use soldworks simulation and one of the functions that fascinates me most is precisely "treated as a beam".

seeing this video seems to allow to treat parts of the structure as brick elements and other parts as beam elements allowing to verify everything in one model.
However, I would like to understand how it works and what it does, how to get the characteristics of the beam, and especially if you can use this function with structures modeled with other software and imported in sw (in igs for example).
I tried to import some structures: Taking the beams individually the beam conversion occurred, however if I applied to the whole structure I remained to wait for the execution of the command for tens of hours until I had to stop the program.
If someone had some experience about it and wanted to share this "investigation" with me I would be very grateful

If no one answered you is because obviously you are not able to answer your question... try to feel the assistance of sw

thanks for the intervention

Surely the sw assistance is useful, but it was interesting to also have feedback from someone who is a user like me... that perhaps it is more impartial and having my own need is more interested in understanding and developing the thing and verifying its real effectiveness and efficiency. . .

at the end of the fair, however, I believe that no one uses it at this point... sin

In fact, I think it is so, I do not use it... if there is someone who can give you some info you will surely do it maybe after a few days, the forum from qusto point of view works. . However I remember that the function actually allows you to make this distinction. I just don't have the simulation and not using it I don't know how to tell you the actual effectiveness of the tool. in case you let us know if you get some info.
