Good evening to all,

It is recently that I use soldworks simulation and one of the functions that fascinates me most is precisely "treated as a beam".

seeing this video seems to allow to treat parts of the structure as brick elements and other parts as beam elements allowing to verify everything in one model.
However, I would like to understand how it works and what it does, how to get the characteristics of the beam, and especially if you can use this function with structures modeled with other software and imported in sw (in igs for example).
I tried to import some structures: Taking the beams individually the beam conversion occurred, however if I applied to the whole structure I remained to wait for the execution of the command for tens of hours until I had to stop the program.
If someone had some experience about it and wanted to share this "investigation" with me I would be very grateful
