solidworks 2017 no longer opens 2016 files

Here I am again asking for help. .
today we went to the 2017 sp2 release with update since 2016.
the first problem found is that solidworks no longer opens the 2016 files, i.e., there is the wheel that continues to spin but you do not get to anything. .
ideas? suggestions?

the situation is a little changed...for the series...the files open them, at least the two I tried, only it takes so much but a lot of time to open them... what was not so before...

If anyone can care we have solved the problem.. .
was a program setting (which nobody had modified)
-options-default file-position documents (must be empty)
in our case it worked. . .
