Good morning to all, I have a problem, in the rescue phase or when you pass from one design to another I get stuck the program and lose the job done.

I have to keep saving to be sure I don't waste time for anything, I think it comes from a memory problem, I use a laptop with 4gb.

I was wondering if there's something that allows you to see how much memory you're using so you don't get to block the program.

depends on the operating system you use, however in almost all versions of windows you can see it from the task manager, open it by going with the pointer on the task bar and crushing the right button, with win7 will appear a curtain you choose to start management activity and from this go on the performance window and controls ram cpu etc..

Meanwhile thanks, I tried using windows 7 and the meter I found is quite bulky, I thought there was something that appeared on the solidworks screen.. .

in solidworks 2012 there is resource monitor near the clock, on 2011 nothing dedicated to part task manager.
question: is gpu certified? Are the models good? I noticed that, when there are bad models, where the hierarchy of together is not well defined, where there are circular references, etc... swx becomes very unstable.
to me will happen 1 crash every 2-3 months of work. the workstation is suitable for the work I do, it is not undersized.

hi, the models and the together are well done and my notice, I only have this problem, I don't know it could depend on the fact that I installed a file to better see the objects not having a right graphics card for solidworks.
What's the gpu? Sorry about my ignorance.. .

- Yeah. is the processor of graphics card. which is therefore not certified; can give those problems (although it is not always said).

I would begin to do the performance test present in the tool folder of solidworks, attached image.
from there you can see the bottleneck.
Maybe you overcklocked the processor that, under effort, warms up and crashes the system.
If so, publish the test result.
