If I didn't misunderstand you would want the sheet format text in the feature manager to comply with the sheet format name, then if it is an a3 instead of "sheet 1 format".
I tried to edit the .dwrdot file of my a3 and modified in the "sheet 1" feature manager with a3, then I also saved its sheet format.

marcoc wants the sheet name to become automatically corresponding to the sheet format.
if insert a folder a4 the sheet name must become a4, if it changes format in a2 the sheet name must be a2.
This is not possible for the simple fact that even if it is connectable to a string, which is not possible because it is simple text, at the time when 2 or more sheets with the same solidworks format could not handle them because the names of the sheets must be unique.
on the net there should be macros fishing from the file properties the values to give to the sheet name.
