Hello everyone
Help me I am desperate and on the threshold of a nervous breakdown.
I did a 3d with autocad 2013 for mac and now I have to import it to 4d cinema to make it with vray.
the problem is that autocad for mac does not have the command to export to 3ds.
How can I do that?
please

Madame:
premise: I have never tried this procedure with cinema4d (I don't have it) and therefore I don't know if they may arise problems.
The only one is to try and see if he goes.
try so (you can use a small free program):
Let's admit you created your 3d model.
now, by autocad, uses export in stl format (litography). will make you select the items to export.
open meshlab and import the mesh you created before and export to 3ds format. I'm done.

possibly try, from autocad, to save in dxf format and see if it works so too but I fear it may lose information.
I usually prefer stl when I have to trade with other programs.

meshlab find it here:http://meshlab.sourceforge.net

Thank you so much now I try and tell you how it went.
I hope to make it

hi I tried but it was a hole in the water because meshlab only cares about the pieces and doesn't even keep the leyers.
possible that there is no direct way between cinema and autocad.
I don't believe it! thanks cmq for your kindness. if you have other tips also

simple......... from autocad 2013 you must save in autocad 2004, hoping that you will.
then you have to have autocad 2004 (of course) and from there export to 3ds, it seems to me that 2004 is the last version of autocad that do it.
simple no:tongue:

notoriously cinema4d and autocad (being the first nemetschek and the second autodesk) have never spoken very well. It seems strange, however, that cinema does not matter the dwg or dxf...

No, it doesn't matter. Only the latest version does.
at least so I was told......... from my desk neighbor.
Hi.

I tried but it was a hole in the water
I did a network search and saw that cinema4d supports the following file formats:
fbx, obj, 3ds, qd3d, stl, dem, vrml 1 and 2, lwo/lws, and dxf.
known that there is also stl and dxf.
is not specified if stl is binary or text type (ascii) while the dxf version is not indicated.
Let's try again with stl. see if you can directly import this file to cinema4d.
if it does not work try again with meshlab but this time you have to export mesh again to stl but removing the check from binary (I do so I can import 3d models into my computing software).
if not so you can then try again with dxf. save in dxf format 12 (not 2012 but just the old format 12 which is indicated with r12/lt2 in the list of formats when you save the drawing). typically this old format is what gives less problems with various programs.
