Yes, you can reopen them, the incompatibility is only valid between different releases, not between service packs of the same release.

I think it agrees, if the siemens says they're doing this, and they know very well how to put on the customer's insults and the irony of competition, you can see that it's necessary... .

not if anyone remembers, but years ago, in the time of v14, there was a similar problem with a sp. the cure had been distributed with the next sp.

for the record the problem had also occurred at the home of solidworks cousins who used the same kernel.

questions:

problem details:
mp3 introduced a problem when editing a feature and placing a
dimensional constraint to the model�s edge. this action will cause other
relationships to fail and a �feature regeneration� message to display,
stating �unable to maintain all feature relationships during update. use
error assistant to correct any features that did not update properly.�


this problem was also reproduced when editing an intermediate feature
and placing a dimensional constraint to the feature geometry. once the
command is exited, some features were failed or warned with the
following message in promptbar: �system error encountered during
evaluate�.

any files that were saved after this type of failure can be repaired
manually, but development is working on a tool to repair them
automatically. if you happen to encounter the messages above while
working in mp3 you can exit the file without saving (sorry you will lose
any work up to that point) and move back to mp2. the file will open in
mp2 and the failed relationships will be back like they were prior to
the failure.

recommended actions:
anyone who installed mp3 should remove solid edge st2, reinstall solid
edge st2, and then apply mp2 to avoid this issue.

if you continue to use mp3 you run the risk of encountering constraint
and relationship failures in any part you edit and apply new dimensional
constraints, etc� that will need to be manually fixed up, only to fail
again if you need to make subsequent edits.

current actions:
development is working on the tool to repair the files. once the tool
is available notifications will be sent to those who downloaded mp3,
posted on the newsgroup, and or others that have experienced either
problem while running mp3.

what�s next?
in order to avoid confusion over having the �correct version of mp3�,
we will not repost another mp3. we will be providing the fix to the
constraint/relationship failure, along with all other fixes that were
included in mp3 an all new solid edge st2 maintenance pack release,
mp4.

mp4 is scheduled to be available for download in mid to late march."

I downloaded it but for now I wait a few days before installing it.. I don't want bad luck to be alive again.
