start revit template problems

Hello, I'm starting to hit the first heads on revit. I press that I work in a mechanical design studio that until yesterday delivered projects 2d. recently we bought revit and we immediately had the first project to deal with. the architects provided us with the architectural model rvt and I am facing the first problems. looking at tutorials on youtube I started a flourishing on the planting but I have to say that I am very in difficulty. I opened a new hvac file and imported the architectural rvt file. to take confidence with the commands I started drawing three-dimensional channeling using default families included in the program. then a company that provides channeling sent us a model rte template that includes materials to use. I was wondering how to do it now. if I open the template from them, can I insert my model already produced? ... then I can change all the properties to the canalizations I have already drawn? I hope I've been quite clear and thank you all for your answers.

hi tristan I did the procedure and I overwrite everything, even the default channelings. Unfortunately the types of channels remain with the same style as before. Taps circular conduit does not change its settings.
