Hello everyone,

We are a small company of 3 designers, recently established.

we are evaluating the purchase of a machine to make prototypes through stereolitography, in order to offer our customers also prototypes as well as design.

from the commercial/industrial point of view we are completely fasting, in the sense that apart from the 3d system, we do not know anyone producing prototype machines.

I wanted to know if anyone knows any company name that produces stereolitography machines.

We want to invest also because otherwise all profit goes into taxes.

I don't want 3d printers to be suitable for conceptual models.

I never had a chance to see prototypes built with 3d printing, but they told me they weren't very accurate.

At the moment, stereolitography seems to me the most used for functional prototypes.

Hello windows_espert, I allow myself to enter into your request with a proposal:
we have a size sst 768 used, the machine is currently working. the machine produces prototypes in abs and has a working room 200x200x300 mm. the machine is in regular maintenance contract with the energy group until the end of 2010.

I still have a doubt if possible.
which dimensional tolerances are obtained with 3d?
the models we draw are almost always small, we are talking about maximum external dimensions of 100 x 100 x 100 mm^3. to be able to couple the different pieces in the assemblies, we saw that tolerances of 1/10 of millimeter are acceptable.

As for the machines used, I reserve to contact privately the people who made the offer.

I was particularly impressed by the vertical resolution of 16 microns and the print area of 500mm x 400mm x 200 which is enormous.

then another suggestion: evaluate your investments well, you don't have to do them just to save on taxes but to grow your company. make investments on what you know how to do (software for example).
