structure with profiles

Hello.
I can't understand how inventor handles extrusion of profiles
I try to explain myself better, I have to do a part consisting of sheets and profiles ipe.
Coming from solidword I create a line and from here through the structural member function you can create profiles.
here I wanted to understand how to manage with inventor something like this

I think the function is similar. create a set, create a part, in which you create a sketch that will be your line.
back into a circle together and by means of the associ loom generator a profile, the one you choose to line.
Obviously it also works for multiple broken lines and/or curves.

I think I understand that in my case it is better to work together welded.

I guess you can link the video.

I honestly think it's wrong to represent the object for what it is. or if you do welded pipes, use the welded top. if then these welded go unto each other you put them in a set (not welded).

This procedure has the inconvenience that one should know a priori how to make the material, because any changes complicate much the design.

also others have this precedent and consequently the difficulties cited, or someone to find a solution also for this?
