I have to make a partial section of a tree to show a hole made on one of its ends. in the 3d I created the section of the tree but in the table I can not find the command that makes me partial this section, avoiding in this way to dissect the whole tree.

you can use an offset section, creating the sketch that delimits its extension.
But if you put an image of what you need, we'd understand better.

Yeah, I think the local section is what you need.

the only thing, is that when you go to set the depth of the partial section for the cut, you have to select it in the view in the plant and not on the same view where you want the section, otherwise he cuts it for the whole depth.

in the two images I highlighted the passages: in the first, select the reference plan corresponding to the half-piece in the view in the plant, and in the second, select a edge in the terminal part of the tree on which you want to create the split. then click on "apply" and you should get a result similar to the second image.
