only the surface is flat!

If I wanted a 'marked' surface in the form of a cylinder? or cone shape?

Can't you do that?

After "smart" the surface, you must "pasticcia" with the commands in the toolbar udt, in particular:

_
_flowalongsrf
_cageedit

see in the attached image as, starting from a jpg, it is possible to create a closed polysurface that gives the sense of an object finely worked.
Of course it can only serve to render, if you try to make the physical piece, the result would not be the hoped one.

you can use the displacement command . you must download the displacement plugin from the rhino site:http://wiki.mcneel.com/labs/displacementin this case you get a mesh and not a nurbs

I think we're on the subject. I downloaded some time ago zsurf4 but I had not yet had a chance to try it.
I've been trying these days, but the results aren't what I expected. while studying the instructions, I have difficulty understanding the interaction between the various parameters available.
Does anyone have any practical suggestions to achieve at least decent results?

(I can't get soft and regular surfaces but instead, where there are just accentuated obres, important depressions that do not reflect the surface of the object). ...............
