Bye to all,
another small step in the world revit.. I have created a pattern of soil by means of a topographic surface important a file of the txt points; now it is defining the material as soil, that by category, in the process of making obtain always a beige material like clay render, while if drawing another surface always with the same settings is rendered correctly as lawn, moreover if in the surface created by the import I create a building platform, the vertical walls of the excavation are rendered correctly. What are they off-road?

Thank you very much
mb

the imported file works correctly.

have you assigned the ground material to the imported object?

the material I use is that of the default template, correctly mapped (in the preview it is displayed correctly) I also tried to change the texture but nada.. already in the shaded 3d views is greyish and not green as in your image. even if I try to assign other materials from the properties and add subregions with different materials, both in shady display and render are quietly ignored. Far from asking you to do my homework, isn't that you could turn your surface file to me so you could compare them? or I'll turn you around, you tell me and thank you again.

the file I simply imported it, I inserted a platform, selected the object I assigned the material grass (by default) and the result is what you see.

Try to assign him another material and see what happens...

hello to all, I made with revit a topographic surface. problem: how do I give the thickness to this surface?I would want to give the material grass to the surface and that earth to the thickness.. other thing:I find a lot of difficulty placing in a very precise quota of the surface objects and buildings, often they are flying!! !so that there is the platform command but I can't associate you with walls and various objects and anyway I don't know how to place it at any altitude of the topographic surface. Are there any snaps or hooks or should I always create reference plans?

Thank you

Topographic surfaces do not support materials with surface motifs.

from the online help:

- in visible material in section, select a material to be used for displaying the floor plan in a section view. some of these materials can be soil, grass and sand.

- in thickness of the few, enter a value to define the depth of the cross section of the earth, for example –25 meters or –30 feet. this value determines the depth of all the topographic elements present in the project.

... other thing:I find a lot of difficulty placing in a very precise quota of the surface objects and buildings, often they are flying!! !so that there is the platform command but I can't associate you with walls and various objects and anyway I don't know how to place it at any altitude of the topographic surface. creates a new level... or a new reference plan....

gfrank excuse if I lost you time, inexperienced neophyte error, the problem was due to a incorrect mapping of the topographic surface of the project phase, while I continued to recapture the state of fact..

Thanks again

Sorry frank I read the fact that I could import altitudes from txt files but how does it work? interesting the topic you want to say that if I have a return of points I don't have to waste time in the manual assignment of the altimeter points? Thank you.

hello to all, I drew a topographic surface generating it from an autocad file. I would like to cut it out to give you the exact shape of the lot, but I can't!! Is there a way to change the border points to give you the form you want?

thanks:redface:
