hello to all, always going up the china of revit learning, I was trying with the modeling of masses. Now, when I open the subject template, if I see it in 3d, I have a nice white background and nothing else. I expected something similar to designreform videos, like this http://designreform.net/2009/04/revit-2010-spline-by-points/ so that I can manage the reference plans also by editing directly in 3d. I tried with the graphic display settings, but I didn't get to the head of anything. Can you enlighten me?

a family of conceptual volumes is used in the film.

by revit online guide:

the conceptual design environment contains models and files of families that you can download and use in a study of volumes.

- in the conceptual design environment are available two standard family model files.

mass.rft
use this model to create new families of conceptual volumes.
see creating solids.

to create a new family of masses, click on new conceptual mass. in the dialog box, select Mass.rft.

curtain panel pattern based.rft
use this model to create a family of components. see families of components of the reason.

to create a new family of components, click the new family, then select the desired model in the new family dialog box: select template file.

- how to open files from conceptual design environment

click the View tab group Windows drop-down menu user interface recent files.
in families, click on new conceptual volumetrics.
the new conceptual volumetrics window is displayed - select template file.

in the browser window, access the desired file and click Open.

Thanks for the answer. I explained badly, my problem is not how to open a template file. In the video, the user opens the metric mass.rft family, which I suppose to be the equivalent mass metric.rft in the Italian version, now when I open this family, I do not get a 3d view like that of the video where the work plans are well visible but a white screen without any element. I attach the file for greater clarity.

hi gfrank, thank you for the infinite patience, unfortunately on my pc I do not get the display you show in the attachment. the 3d view with the background "fumato" I see it only in the families "panel for walled facade" of the metric library. I can't understand if it's a graphical setting of revit or file itself.
