Coming from inventor I'm setting up a template for the boards.
do you need to make a template for each format?
or can you make a standard and then scale to the occasion?
for example I load an a3, then for necessity I have to pass to an a2....

if you draw all the formats you do that, but you have to make 10 sizes between horizontal and vertical. in inventor make a template only and then the steps according to the needs. formats are already preset. I wanted to know if you can do this... .

Maybe you didn't know how to get away with it. or I don't know what you want to do.
However, things are like this:
create a drwdot extension design template that contains your lines, odds, views, annotations and other thighs you will always use when you make a drawing
then create the sheet formats (a4, a3, a2, a1, a0) which contains the square and the paper with the data and save them with the sldrt extension. these facts once will always be valid
when you go to create a design you will find a mask that asks the sheet format to be inserted. chosen format if you want to switch to another format you do properties on the sheet and select a different format

to create the individual sheet formats or use the automatic margin system or take an existing one of those supplied alone and change it to the

in inventor you have only one file with all the formats already set, maybe configured for that customer.

vertical only exists the a4 format.
in inventor those preset files are certainly not rained by the sky, someone must have done it.. .
Anyways if you want to keep comparing inventor to solidworks... or make sheet sizes
