Hello everyone
I tried to find but I didn't find anything about it. I have to realize a thermal analysis of a aluminum plate with attached above a heat sink formed by another plate with channels where air flows in forced convection.
see image attached.
The analysis is transitory.
I would have some doubts about how to proceed:
1 the system is symmetrical and therefore to simplify the computation by ansys in the study of only one part, but once the geometric model has been made, do I have to insert symmetry constraints?
2 at the beginning of the analysis should it always enter the initial temperature ? with the load/apply/setting command?

for the moment these are the doubts that I hope someone will help me

ps. This is a university practice

if it has a symmetry you must impose along the symmetry plans of the bond conditions! I also think it is useful to impose an initial temperature, I think the program will find the solution faster.

Hi.
As for the symmetry I have not yet understood how to set it, there is a symmetry contact in contact wizard and I believe it is imposed there, I preferred to model the complete system seen the urgency and simplicity of the same.
setting an initial temperature is useful as the program has already set its starting temperature, I believe 0 degrees, and if you are studying a system at temperature you must set it as a starting temperature.
