Good morning to all,

I have to make a tin oven having two 1500w electric resistors available from dia.16mm that I will insert inside a 160mm wide plate and 70mm thick.

I must therefore heat the plate up to reach 220°c mainly under the two channels where there will be pond to be brought to the liquid state.

I would like to understand if the c40 material with the geometry and the temperature in play is usable.

do you find the resistors so long?
If you don't put them all in length or you almost struggle to bring everything to temperature.
a consideration, those supports with teflon bushing and those jacks should be isolated otherwise the plate transmits heat and, in addition to disperse, probably creates you some problem.

But I don't understand. Where is the pond? in those two rectangular seats 650 to 90 inter axis long?
is the block made in two half? (I wonder why I see the samples discorded and discontinuous...) if it is done in two half, why? ? ?

However, the c40 at 200° just starts to feel the calf. He's not the problem.
the real problem, as technomodel rightly says, you will have them in the tire cylinders and in the guides, if you no longer isolate everything well

Moreover, so to dwarf and without fail to make a calculation, with two resistors from 1500w and all that free surface you will probably have some difficulty to reach and maintain the temperature

Hi.

the resistors are for the whole length and I still thought to make the seat for an optional third.
for hammers and trees you are right and I will realize appropriate thermally isolated flanges.

The pond is located in the square-section canals, with a 90-section intersection.
the block is made in two halves to use commercial details and for easier insertion of the resistors .
