thesis on revit

Hello, I am a graduate of building engineering-architecture of perugia and recently began to interest me in revit.
everyone speaks of this revit but in my faculty even the smell has been felt..So of my own spontaneous will I would like to learn both the method of work of the bim.. world that its use.
I have already read the books of anna osello (the future of bim......) and giorgio garzino (drawing and information).
Given the probable success and the probable spread that will have this program in these years I would like to do it myself and then use it as a program to draft my thesis. of course thesis divided into two parts: a part of research and criticism of the program and another design.
I would like your opinion both on the program and on its possible diffusion, an opinion on the idea of the thesis and finally some examples of who of the "famous" of the world and Italian scene uses it. . thanks in advance

Also, in the zaha hadid office, they use revit. I know why I was last week at las vegas, in autodesk university, and I met someone who works there, in London.

an old proverb says: "when the wise indicates the moon the fool looks at the finger." Don't be silly, don't look at your finger! :wink:
do not focus on software, look beyond. is the process (bim) that belongs to the future. revit is a great software (in my opinion the best) and a few weeks ago it was also released in version lt (limited technology, not light) therefore made available also for those who cannot invest much. now it is a matter of making the old and new designers understand that the new advances. 20+ years ago investments were made to move from the tecnigraph to the cad; today sacrifices and investments must be made to pass from the cad to the bim. who will stay out of the tour will have short life, as those who remained then to the tecnigraph.

I agree in full.. I have expressed myself badly. .I did not mean the only software but just as you say the methodology that is at the base of the software..but being the best to today it seemed right to begin with the deepening of revit

I am also a student of construction engineering (at the polytechnic of Milan) and... I am also facing the thesis using revit. Now it's a few years that I do my university projects with this program and I think it's great. is really amazing super recommended.

It is important to remember that revit is only a tool that helps to design buildings. If you want to specialize in revit, you will be an expert in revit, not an expert in architecture or engineering. everything depends on your own interests, skills and personality. This is a personal choice. to make a complex building in a large architecture office, each team member contributes with his best skills. some are good for design, some are good for construction documents, some are good for making presentation designs, some are good to understand how to use the software for its maximum potential. Whatever your role in a team, try to be the best in that role.

all skills are necessary and important. and 'as in football. a team needs good forwards, good midfielders, good defenders, and a good goalkeeper. we also need good referees. At the end, life puts you in the position where you perform better, anyway.

the bim is definitely the future although in Italy we are still too old for this great jump. the autodesk is looking in every way to impose itself in this new market and revit in all its different faces is definitely a great program even if regarding the structural it still has a lot to improve. I used it in all projects and I can suggest you deepen the theme of design in workset. consists of a simultaneous and interactive design between planter, strutturist and architect. think only of all the possible advantages of such a thing. a day would not be enough to list them
