thinkdesign or other

I use thinkdesign since 2002 and I am still at ver 2009.3 now I have to decide whether to install 2016.1 or change parish ...... What do you think of the company that develops the software? Is it worth trusting after all that happened? Is development in line with competitors in the same range? thanks in advance for all your advice

hi, strange question yours, because usually those who use td for several years are not willing to replace it with any other cad, including me. After more than 20 years I use various systems such as pro/e, inventor, solidworks, etc etc., I find that thinkdesign is still unique in its kind, hybrid modeling and surface management first. the dpt that now manages this software, is a multinational established for decades in its field, and since it took this software, from what I could notice, tried to improve the additional modules like sheetmetal that, probably, is below the level of competition. Moreover, for the pure power of modeling, it is still at the highest levels, I do not see what can improve the dpt. two weeks ago a French customer, part of a multinational at mf level with which we are working so much, told us to be fully satisfied of having left the ptc to pass to td, with which he noticed a considerable increase in productivity. time ago I also said that td makes immediate and easy what with other cad takes you away a cluster of time, because these are laborious and based on an archaic kernel, with which you need to know in advance whether to make the features of solid or surface, and you find yourself with duple commands that up down do the same thing. I don't care about that. It leaves you a broad spectrum of freedom. Unfortunately you must first know him well and enter his way of managing geometries. so, before you change parish, if it is convenient for you to do so, think about it well. Of course, td cannot hold, and it does not even propose to do so, a comparison with catia or nx, but in this case you should have a much more full budget.

Thank you for your judgment.... I would like to ask myself that I am very well working with thinkdesign but placing the opportunity to invest on the software I asked myself a few questions about what it was best to do.... and I don't like to put stakes on me but at the same time I don't want to make a situation that I have predicted satisfies me.... However know that you have used all the above mentioned software and give me such a judgment surely helps me in the evaluation

We'd miss it. like cad-tester, the only program that really has something new, instead of different than the various solid-blahblah is zw3d (hybrid 100% and excellent surface management). Unfortunately, today is definitely unstable and there are no crashes. to me td 2016 on win7x64 never falls, and I can import huge steps in a few minutes, while with other type solidedge import it seems never end with a huge demand of resources. Bye.
