Could someone kindly explain to me in two words how the "top-down" mode, i.e. the one in which some components are created directly in the environment together, and change to the range of a piece instead imported and independent?

I may have misunderstood, but if you have created the pin in a set using as the diameter of the pin itself, the projection of the geometry of the hole, you change the diameter of the pin to the variation of the ø of the hole, not vice versa, also because going to change the pin you should see the sketch that creates the diameter of green color, ie' geometry projected or derived from other geometry and therefore not changeable. . . .
