Hello everyone,

I am studying the examination of machines on the scalp; from the impeccable theoretical point of view but I can not decipher some tables: Can someone advise me where to go to watch 2d, assonometry, cad3d, turbomachine explosions (mainly centrifugal compressors and polystage axial turbines)?
if possible with indicated the various components (type 1-rotor, 2-stator, etc.) since I find myself in difficulty especially on understanding what is what in these machines.

Thank you.

Hi.

generally on the turbulents do not expect to find out more detailed information, especially on the shovels: are machines (especially axial compressors) that conceal years of tests, studies and experiences that no one wants to share. on aspects of mechanical construction (tens, supports, etc.) you should find something more.
by limiting myself to compressors, two texts explaining non-academicly these machines (including alternatives) can be:

- a practical guide to compressor technology, h. bloch, wiley
- compressors: selection and sizing, r. brown, gulf publishing

There will certainly be others, but these I know them and are still of reference.
I think you can find more, always in English.
the scalp is a good text, although very (but very much!) theoretical!

...I forgot another bible of compressors:

- handbook compressor, p. hanlon, mcgraw-hill

Bye!

thanks for the answer,

I was already noticing that the shovels and many other factors are business secrets and that around is little; unfortunately I still have a completely approximate idea of the structure (with this I mean I can not draw these objects).
As soon as I can take a look at the books you recommended.
I was willing to take pinion turbulents and whirlwind theory of osnaghi: are they valid books?

I just read the discussion of another guy in the forum asking for advice on an axial compressor; If possible, could you tell me where to find images like this for centrifugal compressors?
BRISTOL_OLYMPUS_MK12_A.webpThank you.

Hi.
I don't know the books you mentioned, but I have another book of the pinion (high power engines specific): his style is rather "practical" while being rigorous, at least in the text that I have.

for centrifuges, do a simple search "centrifugal compressors" (https://www.google.it/search?q=cent...a=x&ei=5pkevkuomalgywptm4cycw&ved=0cayq_auoaq)

you will find tons of figures, such as this multi-stage dresser-rand centrifugal (used in petrochemical and process industry in general)

other images of centrifuges taken here and there on the net (they are all freely accessible, so I do not think there are copyright issues to post them: If not, please the administrators to remove them).
