try to give us an eye I did it in turbocad (the same technique I use in alibre, to do this kind of work... ) but I think the construction procedure is equal also in autocad, or however similar.
Once the 3d spline is made, you can use it as a trajectory for an extrusion. (in turbocad I use the sweep function but I know that in autocad exists from the 2007 version).

we say that every cad exploits its potential to realize the various parts, in pro|e I can realize that spring:

- wrapping a sketch on a cylindrical surface and using the result as a traittoria for a vvs
- use a graph that will be the performance of the undulatura
- use a trajpar function

in alibre instead I do not have the possibility to project a sketch on a surface so I have to by force use a 3d sketch...
