I probably understood badly, but just draw a parallalepipedo, called volume for simplified, slightly larger than the tank and remove all parts of the tank group. at this point you will have a number of parts from the volume name, volume.1, volume.2 etc., of these eliminates all parts completely outside the tank and finally calculates the volume of the remaining.
