I imported a dxf file and I need to create a solid from it,
after having brought it on model and then selected and created profile (I don't care to parameterize it...) I go to create extrusion.
At this point it tells me impossible to create with more than one open loop I assume that this dxf is open vin its profile somewhere, there is a command to verify this? I don't know, like, a continuity check or something.

Thank you.

verify that:
- at the end of each primitive there is the appropriate simboletto (quadratino, Cerchietto, etc.). if there are no limits of everything.
- if inside the profile there are holes or pockets does not create the solid.
- verify the presence of multiple primitives on the same location, in case you select one to one the primitives with ctrl pressed after selecting the first.
- if after all these checks does not work: resigned ;-)

bye

the profile can contain inner pockets circles and any other entity; it is not possible to create solids with profiles that integrate internal islands within pockets, circles etc...

its problem is probably due to the fact that it imported a dxf that contains overlapping lines; it is sufficient to use the command "remove overlaps".

I certainly have overlapping lines but I can't find the command "remove overlaps", how do you do it?

Thank you.

that kind of activity carries out it in the environment 2d/table, not from the 3d

go to change/draw/remove overlap

I have a somewhat old version 9 and this command I didn't find it even following your directions anyway thanks

I agree with what has been said since my day. That type of command is activated when you are in the table environment.
try from your drawing in dxf format...with the right mouse button (find an empty area on the graphics area and not select entity) select "personality" then choose "commands" and in the category item locate "table". at this point you should find "remove overlaps". Take it out as a command and try to use it in window mode (and not document) by selecting the group of curves that you will then take to 3d. at this point the only problem you might find is to not have the continuity of the lines and therefore an open profile.
then try to "use" the sample command to locate exactly where the profile opening is always there.
solved all carried the profile in the model environment and try to extrude it.
I have for some time left the 9th and I don't remember if the sequence I described is valid (but I'm sure the command was there) even for that version anyway try!
Good job!

@ pencilcorruption
thanks I managed both to find the command and to close the dxf
But... There is always one but.. I wanted to practically make a three-dimensional writing
and there is not the program that creates me the dxf of the writing I break it in too many segments, is it possible to write it directly with think3?

put the dxf file to download here on the forum...

I don't know if on version 9 there is still evidence to see from insert-->solidi--> text.
at this point insert the text you need in the appropriate box (there is also the possibility to create a solid from an existing text just change the mode from the drop-down menu), select origin, font, direction and extension (if single or double) and you should be in place!
