hi to all, and a special greeting to matteo that I thank for the quotation of inorming as solution plm "alternative".

for those who do not know it, inorming is a three-tier win/web application for rapid deployment of business applications (data management and documents)
with a strong focus on process automation and product configuration (completely integrated with the database). we have a good level thikdesign plugin, as well as solidworks and solidedge, which we can manage in parallel on the same installation, facilitating technology transfer projects.
inorming also has out-of-the-box modules for:
- order entry + integrated configurator
- management of orders and design activities
- change management (requests and modification orders, management revisions, ...)
- computerized quality management
- ...

Sorry for the "part" info, I hope you're interesting for someone.

Say hi.

hi to all, and a special greeting to matteo that I thank for the quotation of inorming as solution plm "alternative".
but does it also work on non apple operating systems? You know, with that "i" in front.

apart from the jokes, with your system the geometry files remain in the customer's house? or are they going back and forth from the remote server?

the application is at three levels: database (oracle) + business server + interface
the interface can be win (e.g. administration parts or cad plugins) or web (on all browsers)

architecture can be in private cloud (all resides at the customer's headquarters); Alternatively, hybrid cloud mode provides that one or more parts (customer choice) are on external servers, to optimize infrastructure and maintenance costs

only in case of management of office documents, the server file can be externally and we can realize the public cloud, but in case of cad files, it is practically necessary that the server file is located in the customer's house (at least for performance reasons)

also it is possible to install in classical architecture client-server

it is necessary to clarify (I believe) that if the server file is in the customer's home and the web application is on a remote server, the use of the geometry files never transit in any case on the external network to the company
