Good morning.

I used by a very little inventor and, since I am "abbotaging" a steering system for a vehicle, I wondered if someone could enlighten me on how to make a rack. in the automatic module to create gears (ver 2014) I find nothing and on the net I do not find tutorials. I would actually have a .step model of pinion and rack ready for assembly but I would like to understand how to create racks, teeth etc. to be able to change size, relationships etc.

Can someone help me? tutorial? instructions? sample files (natives of inventor obviously!)?

Thank you.

greetings

Thank you!

but the 20th of the tooth and the height of 4,7 according to what are calculated? or better, is it a standard geometry (which will go well with any other gear) or is it just an example of how to draw a rack?

If you look at the baldassini in the meantime you make an idea as they are unified measures... then you can deepen the thing in specific texts

Thank you!

20° is the inclination of the common trade racks, then look at the parameters, where you find all the relationships.
for the 4,7, it is not that module * 2,35 on.
I do not know if it is correct, but I extrapolated it by measuring the teeth of rack of various forms that I have in company, and +/- back.
However if you want an exact definition of teeth size, look as davide75 says, baldassini or similar manuals.

Well,

Unfortunately, not being a mechanical engineer, I think I don't have the basics to make calculations and I don't know if the baldassini can help me. . I'll see...

Thank you, I took advantage of it too.
In fact, if I can afford, would you have an identical one?
a parametric would be ideal.

I usually use patterns on tracepart of the company michaud chailly (I do not know them, never bought from them but have models on tracepart and I am too lazy to take a 2d and make an extrusion)

looking for cremailler jump out immediately

It's already parametric! :rolleyes::confused::rolleyes:
just open the parameters scroll at the bottom and put the parameters that you need
