Hello to all:)
I am new to revit... I am going to model a wall with variable thickness where I have to insert a window with a chase... reading the various posts, correct me if I mistake:
Better to shape the wall with superimposed standard walls by joining geometries
so doing my window cuts me only 1 wall and if I try to change the voids(by extending them) I do not get the same cut of the other wall.
I would like to try to understand the bim way of proceeding.
Thank you very much

Hello to all:)
I am new to revit... I am going to model a wall with variable thickness .... .
... it is better to model the wall with superimposed standard walls by joining the geometries....
do you mean a " stretch" of wall where the thickness increases or decreases but remains constant in relation to the height (a rectangular section) or the thickness varies in relation to the height (a trapezioidal section)?

p.s. welcome to the forum

all two hypotheses...I have to shape a stretch of wall that varies in plant...and I also have a stretch of wall that varies in plant and section (it is an old stone wall) :s

for variations in the plant use different types of wall with different thickness for each "port" of different thickness

for variations in section you can do:
- normal wall with aggunta of an extrusion with profile equal to the shape of the detracted section the rectangular profile
- with the masses

thanks to all for the advice....I proceeding like this:
I have created my walls with blanks I have done all the subtractions I need
now inserting windows...they do not fit the cut wall :s
How can I solve this? Thanks :)

if you insert windows or doors, you can't use the subtractions, because the same fit the original shape. you must use a family of walls +extrusions, or a wall shaped by solids

would it be better to add instead of cut?
Of course it's a nice problem to put the doors in the cut walls.
I hope you can solve it as soon as possible.
