I have seen evidence of the fx 580, 1800, 3800, 4800, 5800 in comparison with tests related to inventor and pro wf4.
First of all I wanted to say that the fx 580 goes like the old 1700s and 3700s that cost a sproposito, while the 580 finds it on planet hardware to 180 heuri ivata!!!
the above mentioned series goes more because they exploit the pci-express 2.0 which has the double bandwidth compared to the previous fx x7xx series.
therefore between processor and graphics card there is a better data exchange in favor of final performance to video.
know that the proceeding w3520 is enough to saturate the pci-e band even if it is at 2.66 ghz (then in turbo mode comes almost to 3 ghz).
I would say however not to go beyond the w3550 which is a 3.06 ghz also because then it is only money spent extra to have some tenth point in the tests!

then, surprise of surprises discover that between 580 and 1800 you have performance advantages, but between 1800 and 3800 ...4800 or 5800 ....no! !
then the fastest machine in inventor, tested between various brands and models was a hp z400 with the w3540 (2.98 ghz) and the fx1800...that I leave to those with double xeon e5530!! and the fx4800!!

then, if you don't have to make assembling with more than 25000 parts stopped as well at fx1800 and the money you save on the card (about 500 euros) invest them in ram that is better and arrives at 12 gb. I followed the advice, ordered a processor w3520 with fx1800 card

for the scanner you have to find the correct drivers, if it is outdated and there are no aim is you have to replace it. before you get a new one, make sure all the drivers are there.
if autocad does not work you can try to force compatibility as you do with 32-bit xp.
