I just registered!
we are trying to install new ws. for use with inventor 2008 and 2009
we also have other software in use in the company.
I didn't want to switch to 64 bits as I'm afraid of compatibility with old software cad still in use that unfortunately for now we can't delete like cad mec!!
we use inventor 2008 and I would like some advice from you that you are far ahead in versions.
a) inventor 2009 and 2010 can work decently at 32 bits.
b) we used ws both hp and of, do you have any advice on model to use?, we make assemblies up to 8.000 particular max.
c) which exeon processor or core2?
d) which graphics card.
(c) how many rams.

the 32-bit view problem is that you read more than 4 gb of ram if I don't remember badly (xp no more than 2 gb instead).

All 32bit systems have that limit. . .
but the true limit of windows 32bit (xp or view it is) is that it allocates to maximum 2gb for each application. . but this is a limit that you can (partially) overcome with the right setting.
but did you try to turn cadmec on view64 (maybe compatiblely xp32)?
I have so far found only one program that has serious problems with view64 (premier elements)... but probably because of the "cross" interaction with graphic drivers... I didn't try it again, maybe now it works after so many updates. . .
iho, you should try view64 (or even seven64, now). . .

4 months a year 2010, do you need to update machines and still afraid of 64 bits? the prosim investment would do it much further and think of upgrading now a car and staying at 32bit is crazy. Yes, perhaps with the drivers you will have to tribulate a bit (and now more so) but the game is worth the candle.

the new processors are the i7 of the intel, but they cost, if you don't have to make you just a single slot for the xeons, ram..... as above, if you have 32bit over 3gb you don't do anything, if you decide for 64bit the more you take the less you will have to take in the future, graphics cards go on the picture.
