Hello everyone,
as from title I would like to insert new conical gas threads in the iso metric.xlsx file
example: g3/8, g1/4 which are currently not present.
the problem is that I'm probably mistaken some passages so I keep giving error that there is no such size in the database.
Can you help me? Maybe pointing out politely step by step how to do it.
thanks in advance and cordial greetings

I have not specified the version in question: st.

I get there.

you must select "conic gas supply" and there are diameters from rc 1/16" up rc 6"

I have removed from the name the number of threads that I usually do not carry.
in addition adjusted the nominal diameters to reflect those of the pipes.

Hi.
Hello thanks for the answer. the problem is that any modification I make to the file the program is not able to read the changes.
I'll explain. I just tested all conical gas threads in the original file. and currently only the threads r....
while I don't even work one. I tried as you said to change those pre-existing examples:r 3/8-19 from 17,4 to 16,662
Unfortunately while listing cylinder 16,662 the thread does not work. How can I do that?
I attach the file.

but the value 16,662 from where you took it? to me the tube of 3/8" turns out to be nominal diameter 17.2

I see then that the value 16,662 you put it only in straight threads and not in conicals.

attached my file, the nominal diameters I use are:

1/8"
10,2

1/4"
13,5

3/8"
17,2

1/2"
21,3

3/4"
26,9

1"
33,7

1"1/4
42,4

1"1/2
48,3

http://www.tamburinigroup.it/uploads/utensili/filettatura_gas_conica.pdffrom table 3/8''' requires a nominal diameter of 16,662 . in fact inserting this quota does not work the thread. How come 17.2?

Now I understand, you are confusing the nominal diameter with the diameter in the measuring plane.

for conical threads the nominal diameter is that of the tube that you need to thread.

Hi.
I know that for conical threads the nominal diameter is that of the tube that I have to fill, but the problem is another. Why do I have to insert a false data (17,2mm dn) instead of the true one (16,662 mm dn) in order to achieve the conical thread?
I have checked all tables for conical gas threads and all carry a nominal diameter or external diameter whatever you want to call 16,662mm.
I'll attach the drawing of the chord in question. all the measures present are the real ones except the non-threaded end because the program does not make me realize the g3/8'. being that the size of the nut is 17mm the thread will never be 17,2. I don't know if I'm explaining, if you don't understand anything, ask me.
Thanks again

99% of the time I find myself having to fill tubes, so I was comfortable using the tube diameter as a nominal.
the measure you carry is on the measuring plane that on a conical thread does not correspond to the maximum diameter or the nominal diameter.

We allow for hypothesis to use 16,662 as a nominal diameter, you'd find yourself having this diameter at the end of the thread's conicality and I don't think it's what you want, even because the measuring plane should be placed within a certain distance as indicated in the tables.

what ultimately matters is the quotation of the thread on the drawing, which will be r3/8" and not ø16,662.

If then the nominal diameter protrudes you from the hexagon you can always "pull" it with a ø17 dig.

If you haven't done it yet, I suggest you try the synchronous environment, it doesn't matter the nominal diameter as it automatically fits the chosen thread.
