xref and update blocks

Good morning, everyone. I would like to know if this is possible:
I am working in a work file containing a xref I call a. in the xref is contained a block that I call forometries. Now I take the forometric block from the file on which the xref points and take it into the work file. stupidly I thought that by entering the xref and changing the forometric block, I also upgraded the glued block directly. but not. the two blocks are identical but the update of that contained in the xref does not automatically assume that of the work file. Is there a system to do that?

as it says number1 you cannot do. It's like two different blocks, one called "block" and the other "a.block".
What you can do is this:
make a copy in the work file of the xrif and then crop it (command clip) in order to show only the affected block.
