the way to save the files is completely different...I will have to get used to the fact that I will save everything in a single “container” without subdividing into the various directories (I am a plm neophyte).
the controls changed little, while the graphic dress was revolutionized and improved. for now two things have struck me not really positive: 1) I am experiencing a tide of problems in file migration, also I cannot maintain 2d drawing links/ assembly scenarios. 2) have lifted the automatic ball, if you want to ball an explosion you have to do it yourself piece by piece and ovviation every number you insert on the drawing does not keep the connections with the 3d details. Amazing! Maybe I got too loose, I'll be more precise soon.

Try to see the beauty of the pdm and not only the "laces"... you will see that you will find great benefits.
I hope you have done at least all update training and have given you a methodology.

Unfortunately, because of various issues we are encountering in the migration of files, and the amount of work to be done in the study, we are not yet migrated to catia v6. we were forced to extend the period of use licenses with v5 until the end of 2011. ds and our cat vendor are solving our problems... It takes time. I will keep you informed.. .

One of the problems is that. we work a lot with scenarios of catia, which with v6 take the name of slides; all 2d files from scenarios, such as explosions for assembly department, listed assemblies for catalogues, partial assemblies for assembly instructions etc., when migrated lose links with catproduct, become "dead" crops that do not follow the updates of the assemblies. other files, however, seem to have no problems when migrated. the important thing is that they are not tabled from scenarios. we are also developing everything that concerns us. standard; the latter we had customized them with v5: we have to do the same with v6. However, everything continues very slow due to the various deadlines we must respect. We haven't worked with this plm!

- the conversion of catparts from v5 to v6 completely keeps the whole tree of history or any feature is lost?
- Does the product keep all connections or do you have to hand them back?
- also exist with the v6 file extension catpart, catproduct and catdrawing?
- v6 absolutely needs a plm or can you hold the same organization as v5 (files on the server)?
