good morning to all, I would have a problem with nx7.5 (on workstations t3500 and xp sp.3) only by launching the program the use of cpus salts to50% and after thatche small to unleash, salt to 100% and locks everything.

I have come from a septicism of course and from years of catia v5... I'm anxious to test... what would you help me?

Thank you very much

a strange reaction. . .
try setting the environment variable reboot ugii_smp_enable=1 (if you have a multiprocessor), the machine and see what happens. .

alternatively open the call to siemens.. .

Maybe, I turned your indication to the directors... but they have their times.. .

However I will let you know
Thank you very much

You installed the 32-bit version, didn't you?
chje graphics card do you have?
Are video card drivers certified?
is ram homogeneous?
version nx7.5 is updated to last mr/mp?
Does the log file say something?
Are Temp areas clean?

If these checks are ok, it may be that something went wrong during installation, so I suggest you remove everything and re-install, so it takes 10 minutes.

I try to answer you:
the version is 7.5.3.3 32 bit
picture nvidia 2000
ram 3.50 gb
c:temp folder I cleaned it
log file extract:
(** enabling smp using 2 threads on 2 processors)
parasolid version 22.1 build 260 on 19:45:3 5-1-2011
cmod delete: predefined, dumbify-feature option is <true>cmod delete: predefined, propagate-delete option is <on>cmod update: predefined, fail-on-missing-refs option is <off>2d dcm version 560001020)</off></on></true>

nothing to do, first attempt went wrong.. .
adding the variable the problem persists.
the variable does not serve, indeed, is harmful to the performance.
Take it off.
follow the advice I gave you on and then I knew how to say.

you need to search in the log file if there is some suspicious error message.
I'd try to reinstall.

I mean? is the variable that shows the multiprocessor harmful to performance?

from the tests I have done or has no influence or is slowing down operations.
Windows probably doesn't manage the passage of information between one core and the other.

Oh, my God, this is beautiful, and I've always worked with it.

But if you have 2 processors, is it different?

by what jokes:

evvai grande microsoft..........I immediately see on my super powerful machine....:finger:

after various prayers, they reinstalled everything... No improvement... it always kills 50% of cpu snche only to program launched without doing anything.

Could you have problems with cpu xeon?

Thanks again

or mom, I'd really hope not, I just made an offer for a new car.

bhe, in theory xeon cpus are slower than an i7, but are considered more stable, in fact used together with type memories etc. (to error control) on servers, workstations and machines for "heavy" calculations. . .

you should try to see the .syslog file extension when the error is generated in c:\users\*name_user*\appdata\local\temp\
(I use win7, but the path should be the same also for xp...)

I have a laptop with 8 cores and 8 gb ram.
Maybe, as you say, with a "real" biprocessor is better.
Ah, I'm sorry, I just tried the hlr performance at the table.
the other point where the double processor is theoretically used is in the boolean.
ps. with smp_enable_blablabla=1 the cores seem to work alternately.

If you forget me, I'm very happy, let's understand

I also have a laptop with 8core and 16gb of ram at 1600mhz and 2.50 ghz processor (of m6600) and I did tests without seeing differences in modeling. But the question is... the management of computer resources who does it? can the software always do its own? or better not you want to develop software that fully exploits computer resources? How is the story?:smile::smile::biggrin:
