1) Sorry, I didn't see you using mechanical cad (I don't know it): That's why I didn't understand the detail command.
2) read well: dimlfac and non dimflac (see guide)
3) layout space: why give up one of the most efficient and proven potential of autocad, introduced already for almost 15 years? It's like owning a ferrari and traveling to the top in the fourth.

Are you talking about mechanical? or does autocad have a special command in the express tool?
if it's mechanical.. . personally I did some tests and even deleting the generating view does not erase the detail.
It is true that it loses the scale relationship, but it is not that you can work counternature and claim the same results.
just look for a carpiata solution with half screwdriver to the right and half to the left, you create a layer that you will freeze and you put all the view c. the detail remains referenced and you do not see and you do not print the view c.
