Hello everyone!

I am brand new to the forum and also new to the world of autocad (although I already have some experience ).

I describe my problem, hoping to be able to receive from you some answers that help me but I hope before everything else to be clear!

are in possession of a ".dwg" file that represents a cathartic cartography. practically it was taken the image of this cathartic card and then were polyline drawings, lines etc. so to have a real design of it on autocad.

well I wanted to try to establish some coordinates of it in the real world.

I installed both autocad 2014 and autocad map 3d 2014 for this job.

with autocad 2014:

- I connected to autodesk 360 online
- I used the " geographical position" function to establish the position in the real world thanks to the connection with bing air maps

so now I have bing air map below and above my cathartic card. bè is not very precise because of course how you will know the roads change and also the buildings (the charter is 1951).

But it is quite precise. There is an error of about 4 meters with the overlap is not so much. Although some buildings have an error of 10 meters with the overlap but it would be enough to fix them and it would be perfect to say.

the overlap is done well because I referred to a church that has never changed so it is just as I put the position.

now what I would like to do is understand how to get and view by clicking on a point of the map coordinates in sixty degrees.

In theory, it should provide them directly bing but in practice I do not see anything.

I have seen looking on google that to someone the coordinates appear below, but I wrote only "utm84-32n" (as you can see in the picture below)

In practice, it would be a kind of work of georefence even if not very precise, but for what I have to do, it would be good like this.
I should just figure out how to get the coordinates. How can I do that?

I don't understand. Would you like to have the coordinates in latlong instead of crying?

I try to be simpler and concise.

I would like to click on a point and have displayed the coordinates in this way here: 40°32 11.2'n, 11°34'27.2'' and

"theoretically" I should display them without problems as I support the bing map yet a simple function to do so is not there.

Thank you so much!

I went to "geographic position" and going on "modification location" hnon I have no chance to select ll84 because it is not there.

while on autocad map 3d I ll84 but if I select this system of coordinates I no longer visualize the map of bing and the drawing in cad.

This is what appears to me:

Obviously an option that I considered simple as displaying coordinates is much more complicated than expected. the thing honestly leaves me puzzled since with opensource software like qgis the same operation takes place in a few minutes.

Anyway thank you so much again for the help and availability!

Would you excuse me if I insist, but could no one be able to help me?
First of all it associates with your design a coordinate system (e.g. gauss-boaga), then launches posgeographic and marks the area of your interest. finally with the _maptrackcs command you pull out the coordinates in latlong that you need

Thank you for your answer. I did what you said and it all works except one thing.

the coordinates that come out to me are x and y and I'm not sure the sexes as I wanted: "42°32'8.11' n ".

are coordinates of the type "10152.36 x and -34876.1y" that no coordinated conversion program can recognize me.

the reference for the coordinates of the drawing and for the tracking of the same with maptrackcs is "utm84-32n" that I know for sure to be correct because already I used it with another program.

I know that with autocad it is so difficult to do this? I do not know if I can appoint the program, I hope so, but with qgis the georeference is much simpler and inuitive besides providing you in 5 seconds the sixty coordinates.

Why is this so complex with autocad? I apologize if my post seems to be content with you. in fact it is but not to you but to a professional program that cannot be fast and intuitive for something I consider stupid enough to do.

not at all qgis that is opensource provides me with the coordinates as I say without cuffing too much. simple and fast. I ask so much, I don't think so.

Thanks again for the patience. If you have any idea how to do...in the sense...I have already solved with this other program but I would like to understand why with autocad you can not do.

...but I would like to understand why with autocad you can't do it.
Your problem is that you can't use autocad map 3d, not that you can't do. You didn't even bother to watch the help online to see how it works and what the maptrackcs need. If you had, you would have discovered that the reading coordinate system can change so as to convert utm to ll flight

Tell me something. Why do you want the coordinates in sexes? Aren't the sexes good?
no for nothing, because I have to report the coordinates on google earth. However both as already said with qgis I solved in a much easier and faster way than autocad map 3d.

It's true I probably don't know how to use it, but I assure you that the online help I wrote it, otherwise I wouldn't have asked how to convert the coordinates again.

so if I asked it is because I didn't find anything on the online help. You can change utm in certain but I don't need anything.

The coordinates are not in sextile format. with qgis instead in a few seconds I have coordinates in front of the eyes and the work of georefernzazione is extramemente accurate and exportable on google earth.

All this is extraordinarily complicated and full of autocad steps that should be a professional program and as such should provide me with faster and more effective solutions than an open source program.

All this based on the pure and simple rule of "if I pay a lot of product, the product must be valid to do what I need with the least number of steps and with the least difficulty possible. otherwise I spent so much money on a product that was not developed in a valid way!"

in a valid way means simple. who works with autocad as you will know even better than me must stick to deadlines on projects many times. If I have to lose days understanding a command or functions... who pays this time? autocad?
in autocad teroia I pay so much because it should work simply, I repeat.

This does not happen. End.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion, your reasoning makes water from all sides. if you are looking for a one-shot-app you have wrong product; a professional software is by definition a complicated business and nothing is resolved by pressing a button. Try to see if arc info is as simple or, remaining on open source, fat solves the problem so quickly. qgis is simple because it is limited to those four stupid things that he was born to do and if he were Moroccan nobody would use it. If you think spending money means having a tool that works in your place and that solves your problems with a button you've made a big mistake.
in any way you would need 5 seconds search on google

You're perfectly right about this. I don't deny that qgis is limited to 4 stupid things but you see the point is that they are just the 4 stupid things I need.

or with qgis I managed to do a precise georefence work in a few hours. in autocad is a week and the more I keep and I can't. Surely because as you say I won't know how to use autocad map 3d but I didn't even know how to use qgis.
fact is that with the latter I managed I repeat to do the work I had to do and the coordinates correspond in reality (I have already verified).

with autocad are still in the high sea and I would like to learn and succeed in making georefence with this software but if for every command and for every "cavolata" (convince me the term) I have to lose days and hours. It doesn't make sense.

the link you gave me and thank you, does not solve my problem. in the "coordinated track" dialog box you can't in any way click with the right button and then I can't select any option that is called "dms" to view the coordinates as I say!

thanks again for the link.

ps: I hope you will understand I have nothing against you but it makes me turn a lot of boxes having to waste so much time for functions so trivial that a professional program should have, I repeat, in a simple way.
then all the rest concerning georefenzazione nothing removes that with autocad map 3d is better but for the coordinates... my mother...

I set the grades from: menu'-> utility card-> drive

selecting from the "angle" tab the format "grades/minutes/seconds".

but the coordinates I see as always.

if you know the tool you will know where to go looking; If you sudden, of course, do what you can do and then stop. autocad fortunately (I'd be out of a piece) is quite complicated and without proper preparation it takes you exclusively to piss and blasphemies

I saw the article on your blog. I can only thank you and accept heart, having understood the meaning, your criticism towards me more than just.

I think I was wrong. I demanded simplicity from a professional tool that as you rightly write from work to many. If it were simple, the children could use it, and then you would be at home.

It is true autocad you have to study it, work it, understand it, and you can't then so much it is worth paying people who are in degrees to do so.

people like you are essential to make idiots like me understand the work behind it. I'm sorry.

the coordinates in the end were really simple to find if only I had the patience to read and study better the guide online.

With that post of yours, you've been helpful and you'll be useful to a lot of other people! and it is a rarity to find articles written so well. also the blog is really well structured.

I thank you and I apologize again. All this discussion served me to reflect a lot.. .

I am improvised in autocad map 3d and it was a big fuck!! however everything is good what ends well and I repeat, people like you would need more;)
