Hello, I have now presented myself in the special section.

I am using autocad 2014 for mac, and turning for the web I found courses online here:
http://www.prismacad.it/wordpress/can you assure me if it is safe as a site and if the course tutorials are done well?
because free videos on youtube are explained very well.

I come from a different world html and css, I do the web design but I always had the passion for 3d.

If there are other tutorials I would ask you to post something to me.

Thank you very much.

I want help. I can't make a hole in the cylinder, I saw all the guides possible and I do great.

I've been haunted, but look at the pictures. .

Thank you.

autocad is not exactly the most suitable soft for modeling 3d, there are much easier, effcaci and fast.

Be careful that you activated the 2d view.
at the top left try to select conceptual or hidden or realistic etc...

You were about to take the picture, but I still can't.

If I try to make a lateral "hole" puts it detached from the cylinder and not impressed in it. How can I do that?

to create in 3d recommend me autocad or rhino?

But really?

some names?

They talked to me about it.
if you are forced to use the macintosh the choice is reduced very much. Can't you switch to windows? In that case you only have the embarrassment of choice.

the software cad is chosen according to the field of work. What are you doing?
some examples:
architecture: archicad, revit, allplan
mechanics: solidworks, creo, solidedge
rendering and video modeling: 3ds max, rhino (species for curved solids such as ships, vessels, etc.)
modeling for videogames, movies: maya

Obviously the fields of use are not so rigid and sometimes the areas of use have overlaps.

then according to what you want to do and the hardware at your disposal you value if
1) the hardware is compatible for the chosen program
2) There are valid alternatives to the program chosen for your hardware
3) it is necessary to adapt the hardware to the chosen program

autocad is a software that fits a bit to everything, but without exceling in anything. in the profession it is mainly used for 2d drawings. in the 3d missing parametric functions is being set aside, and the 2d is the past and sometimes unfortunately still the present, but will not be the future.
However it is still a good base, a software that is believed to be fundamental.

I've been using mac for a long time and I'd never come back.

I'm studying but I want to learn moderation 3d, like houses, objects, rooms, desks and then get to master everything well.

I'm trying to tell you that it's nothing wrong.

However use macbook pro '13 retina, intel core i5 2,4 ghz, 8gb ram.

Thank you very much for the answers.

It's just that with rhino modeling, not being parametric, it's a little imprecise. If you can use parametric systems based on mathematical equations, you can go much further.

if you want to make 3d modeling for dialect you can also choose so perentoriously the software according to the operating system you use and not the opposite as logic would recommend.

What if I start with rhino and then change soft?

I wouldn't go back for various reasons. windows has compatibility with everything and yes but unfortunately is the tumor of the machines.
I have studied and worked with these things for years now and windows is the worst I know. and I don't speak because I have ios!

are arguments debated on qusto forums, which are usually greeted with an ironic smile. normally those who use engineering software know exactly how to use windows and makes it fruit to the maximum, without incurring in the problems of less prepared users. I used macintosh in the past, but it was more impediments than I could do than what allowed me.

Exactly, if you do something specific for your job you don't have to have limitations.

I needed mac for everyday life and web design so here's why.

I had PCs assembled by me that were spaceships but for now I don't need them!

I think it's quite simple, I'm already creating unlike autocad that I found a little in trouble.

What soft do you use? in what area?

Excuse me, but I don't understand, to make a hole in a cylinder should change software? ! ?
It's true, other software is harder, but you have a very little self-consideration...:wink

He'll soon want to do something more sophisticated.

It is clear that there are more specific software for the 3d but I have to admit that with autocad you can still work well. even it is easier than sketchup and it is not so true that rhino is the panacea of every 3d designer.
I don't know what you can't do.
in the case in question just draw a passing cylinder in the one to drill and then subtract.

Here is an example:Foratura.webpIf you want to take a look at it, I'll also attach the dwg:View attachment Foratura.dwgI drew the biggest cylinder with cylinder command then copied it and reduced the copy diameter directly from the properties and then I made the subtract with subtract getting the first vertical hole.
for the second hole I (for laziness) still used the small cylinder obtained previously (I had made two copies).
I rotated 90° using the gizmo and placed at the center of the big one. I stretched it with the presspull and so I still subtracted.
It really takes a moment to do this. It's not difficult at all.

and that I must take so much more familiarity!
