the maximum I can do at the moment is to draw in 2d and then give the command for the thickness for the 3d

in company we cut and we incite materials and often arises the problem of knowing the weight of the finished product

use autocad 2010 or 2011 depending on the location

example

cut a plate 200 x 100 x 3 mm aluminum 5754 with some holes

if drawings in 2d you can create a region starting from the shape of the piece, from there draw the area and multiply it by the thickness.
