technical institutes and training courses provide basics (this is highly recommended to design), while the university must give an overview of the sector and can't do anything else! It is unthinkable that it provides a specific preparation that immediately prepares for a job, however not even technical institutes can do so.
in companies the skills are now sectoralized and highly specialized, so often in a same office, who is upstairs does not know how to do what they do downstairs and vice versa (sometimes even at the desk next door).
each of us had to learn different ways to do the same job or learn different jobs, and evolution is continuous.
Now, what you need, is that the university (which will never guess what exact work the student will go to do) prepare to face every problem/work that arises, with a method that is not superficial, and let him learn how to look for the notions that you do not have at that time.

to the red flange is attached with tongue the tree of the epicloidal reducer. . .
