custom menu creation with blocks

Good morning to all,
I have my problem.
the company I work for is creating a line of accessories, my boss asked me to make in a month the following miracle:

create a drop-down menu (possibly self-installing or that can be loaded by the customer) from which our customers can go fishing the blocks of our accessories and place them in the architectural design.

blocks must be linked to attributes such as article code and price etc.... once the design has been completed, for the designer it must be possible to export to excel the list of the accessories in question (the exported file must have a header type order form).

the version of autocad I'm using is autocad2011.

so far I have created a folder with the blocks to which I linked all the required attributes.

I did a try to export the excel table with attributes, but I can't figure out how to insert a custom header, and of course it will never automatically make me the sum of accessories prices.

I created a custom drop-down menu with the items that interest me, but I have no idea how to make my blocks appear in the menu, or how to export them so as to make them "loadable" on another location.

thanks to anyone who can help me.

I'm not a programmer, I'm a designer, but as I've worked a few years as a computer I've touched this "working school". I hope I've posted the correct section.

One thing from nothing...:tongue::biggrin:

Starting from the menu, I'll give you some tips for the "old way" procedure, I don't know how to add group menu images through iupers:

- creates a wblock for each accessory
- creates a slide for each accessory
- create a menu file (*)
- command carmenu, select and upload the menu file, will be compiled as .cuix and added to the menu bar. (***)

I attach a folder with examples (blocks, slides and menus), add it to the autocad path (options/files) and see the effect that makes...

(*) is a .mns file extension, open with an editor what I attach and note that the block is inserted with 4 different procedures (which do different things), do tests to complete it with your needs.

(***) with the application distribute the .cuix

:eek:
I'd better get to work for a little bit of evidence, or I don't need the month I have.

Thank you:

One more question.
I created a series of slides, each with one of the accessories and saved them in the autocad support folder.

from the command prompt > folder support I typed dir *.sld /b > mialista and correctly created me the ascii file called mylist
the next step should be to create a .slb file that contains all slides, but when I type the command slidelib libreria < mialista gives me the following error

"slidelib" is not recognized as internal or external command, executable program or batch file

Did I do something wrong?

try copying slidelib.exe to the folder from where you launch the command.

i.e. if the slides are contained in a library the syntax to use in the menu file is different: [NOMELIBRERIA(NOMESLIDE)].

:smile:

I noticed something strange: when I go to insert the block into the drawing, instead of inserting it into the point that I set it far away, and I have to zoom out to find it.
I tried to specify the basic point of insertion in the phase of creation of the block, but nothing changes.
I also tried to move the origin of the axes by making it coincide with a point on the object always in phase of creation of the block, but also so did not work.
Did I miss something in the code?

hello to all, I'm trying to make the library with slides, I downloaded the "pippo.zip" test, I inserted the folder under options/research path of support files, I exit the menu, but when I select a line, I appear the all black squares and in the left side no writings... and above you see (4) yyyy.... Can someone explain how to solve this? ps. use autocad 2006. thanks!!! ! ! !

I don't know what to say, I can try with a 2008 and it's okay.
try downloading the pippo menu with carmenu, restart autocad and reload it.

alternate menu command, marked well what is the one in use (you need to restore it) and then select pippo.mns, you should find yourself with the only accessory curtain, see if it works.

I put in and ask a question... I performed the procedure described and came to the creation of a library.slb file instead of .mns what to do?
Thank you.

solved. . .
the .mns file I have to fill in:d
remains a problem, on autocad 2007 and autocad 2011, as for buzz I get black squares with the written "without icon". . .
How to overcome this problem? I downloaded, recharged, deleted, remade... boh!!!

Hi, at least we're in 2... what makes me more anger is that on autocad 14 it works... but I have to go through 2006, and I just have this problem.

are two different problems.

@michele
if you get black squares with the word "without icon" means that in the menu you have mistaken the connection with the slides or the folder that contains them is not in the path of autocad.

@bucket
I'm almost sure if with menu (not carmenu) loads the file "pippo.mns" works to you, clearly not having more than the other commands. instead of charging it then with carmenu try to change the main file by adding the new menu item directly from iupers.

uff, it's still not working.
In fact the pippo example served me as a point, to begin to understand something.
After that I took another file from the network, I modified it according to my needs (I want to build an archive of wells for white and black waters to insert quickly in planimetry, since I often deal with hydraulics) and I launched it. It's okay except the black screen.
If you have some time... I uploaded it here https://docs.google.com/file/d/0b5i9nhmjbyucogztc1rfmnrnu00/edit?usp=sharingGrazie!
