Hi.

do you know how to disable (temporarily) the update of variants (instances) when I make a change to the generic? work with creo 5 out windchill.

I basically have a changing box that was modeled on the generic and then 12 variants such as instances were created.
every time I make a minimum modification to the generic, like delete a section, I create part with the regeneration of all variants (it takes about 2 minutes each time).

I set up in the config enable_autoregen=no but nothing changed.

Thank you all.

I've been thinking about half a solution. I still had to test it because I didn't create a submarine.

and if I put the instances in insert mode at the beginning of the model tree? In theory I create it would try to regenerate but it wouldn't have features to process. so doing regeneration time should decrease significantly.

Let me know what you think.

I think the best way and to throw fouri from the ram all variants before changing the generic.

hi arni, thanks for the answer.
how do you remove from the ram the variants loaded in memory? if I go on undisplayed erases (erase not displayed) tells me that I only have the generic in memory.

variants loaded in memory only let themselves be erased from the ram, if they are not in a drawing or assembly in memory.
