Hello. .

with mastercam, in "outside parameters" , "input/output controls", there is the possibility to set a point and set it as a point of entry or exit or both entry and exit... .

but can't you use a point for the entrance and one for the exit? . . .

thanks to all

hi,cmq the entry and exit point, for closed profiles he takes them alone, the only thing you can do is extend them or reduce them. with the controls you see at the bottom of the entry/exit page...... pay special attention to the internal profiles!!! !

if I in the geometries besides the chain imposed also a point, and incoming exit imposed everything to zero and put the check on "use point of entry" and "use point of exit". . .

the tool will enter that precise point, will make the milled and exit at the same point. . .

what you want to know is if you can set a point for the entrance and a different one for the exit

I never use this method, as someone who taught me mastercam, a person who has been working with this software for more than 20 years and is also an instructor, explained to me that when you work the profiles in compensation (g41 or g42) he reasons that for a tangent input he needs a linear space of at least 0.001 mm longer than the milled radius and an ever larger radius of the milled radius.... ! ! !

I think it's very convenient xke the frieze enters that point and from them it begins to work.... very simple. . .especially if you need to adjust the programs a little bit by hand... .

Anyway...

Hopefully someone can tell me if you can do what I mean...maybe you could ask your teacher. . .

Hi, do such a test, in the definition of geometry from an initial point, the chain and another final point then see what you do, if you try to adjust the entry/exit parameters, however I agree with the opinion of luigix the points can be overlooked.

hi, selecting a point and the chain of the mastercam contour uses the same incoming and outgoing point, popping up the appropriate box "use entry point", as you said.
If these geometries add more, for example another point, mastercam will consider it as a milling point to be reached after having followed the whole contour.
playing with radius and angular opening however you can get close.

ah..of course you could draw a line from the point of entry to the profile and from the point of exit to the profile and detach the entry and exit option...so the cam only makes you the path you actually designed

I try....to me would be useful xke I have to enter exactly in a pre-light with a shaped frieze and get out of another pre-light... now as now the exit I have to write it by hand
