Good morning to all,
I have this problem: a customer has provided a file of a set using of course a cad different from the cad. this file is a .step that we can certainly import to then save it in .catproduct but of course we are not able to recover native geometry. Now you think you can do it? Is there a program that allows you to do what I ask?
the alternative is redesigning the model but as you can imagine it is rather laborious. I've heard of the Ironcad translator, is there any of you who's ever heard of him?

I didn't read everything... I am asking you if this is not the case with the name of the part, hoping that it is not huge, that x example x me is the name of the drawing as a result you would have in any group the name of the part..... or the anniversary.
it could be an idea but you mess with + the pals nature .................. I didn't do tests x that I don't have time but you can see you changing in the drawing options the way you want to ball.

I apologize if I answer only now, besides I realized that I must have made confusion and maybe I wrote a private message to someone (but I'm not sure why I can't find it anymore). However with spaceclaim you can import any neutral or native 3d file (so also cat) and change it to 100% in every detail. do this you can choose whether to complete separate tables etc. inside the same or you can export a catia v5 file containing pmi information and then complete it all in catia. important thing is that you can recover all geometry and you do not need to remodel anything.
