Good morning to all,
I have this problem: a customer has provided a file of a set using of course a cad different from the cad. this file is a .step that we can certainly import to then save it in .catproduct but of course we are not able to recover native geometry. Now you think you can do it? Is there a program that allows you to do what I ask?
the alternative is redesigning the model but as you can imagine it is rather laborious. I've heard of the Ironcad translator, is there any of you who's ever heard of him?

Thank you in advance for your answers
Good morning carlo.
what you want to do is possible with spaceclaim. import, correct, completely recover geometry and modify it as if it had been built inside spaceclaim from the beginning.

If I can help you, I'm available.

Okay, but then I should still be able to open up with casket and work for the harvests at the table. so I would be bound by a program that I can't use. I use what you say....ok....and then?

as I have already said before, I have two assemblies in which there are elements that are repeated in both. Now if I open the first assembly and tell him to run the numbering ball I need the elements "pallinated" in the first assembly that repeat also in the second have the same "pallino" otherwise in the workshop at the time of construction comes out a mess.
I point out that every technical office has its organizational logic in relation to the drawings, so it is difficult to make suggestions.the number of the ball, serves for identify the detail in its assembly, while the particular to be built or purchased must have a unique name or number

from my point of view, if I have more complex than recalling the same details, those details are not specific to the design but are of the standards, so they must be treated with numbering or coding according to a library.

If you want them to have the same number of balls, you have to create a parent assembly that loads both products as byproducts, in that way you will have the right amounts related to the particular.

The workshop that opens the first assembly has to find everything he needs to build that assembly.
The workshop that opens the second assembly must find everything he needs to build that assembly.

if it is the same workshop that builds both assemblies must look at the name of the part to build the particular, the number of the pellet to identify it in the explosive and mount it, while for the total must make the sum of the quantities of each table.

personally if the workshop asked me the same ball in total different for equal details, I would probably throw them in bad way.

I didn't read everything... I am asking you if this is not the case with the name of the part, hoping that it is not huge, that x example x me is the name of the drawing as a result you would have in any group the name of the part..... or the anniversary.
it could be an idea but you mess with + the pals nature .................. I didn't do tests x that I don't have time but you can see you changing in the drawing options the way you want to ball.

Hello, carlo.
I apologize if I answer only now, besides I realized that I must have made confusion and maybe I wrote a private message to someone (but I'm not sure why I can't find it anymore). However with spaceclaim you can import any neutral or native 3d file (so also cat) and change it to 100% in every detail. do this you can choose whether to complete separate tables etc. inside the same or you can export a catia v5 file containing pmi information and then complete it all in catia. important thing is that you can recover all geometry and you do not need to remodel anything.

I hope I've been helpful and excuse you again for delay and confusion.

Good morning.
a special thanks to Mr. gianni55 who, with his experience and availability, gives the opportunity to all to learn his methods that certainly come from a professionalism that is hardly found nowadays.
