Of course he must, we'd miss him.
the problem is the question, so... there is no answer.. .
I don't know what product projects.
I don't know what methodologies you have in use.
I don't know how many historical data you have.
I don't know if you're designing inside or relying on suppliers.
I do not know if to use nx/tc (like ideas/tdm) or nx in native.
I don't know if carrying over from an old project to a new one is high or not.
I don't know if you only use cad or even cam and cae etc

How do you say that?
is said based on your experience, or on practical evidence. 10 years ago I made a carcad machine and then I made a similar one in proe and I noticed the superspeed of proe especially the subsequent modification of the 2d.
as employees do not have such experience in nx6 that you find a good timing result compared to i-deas users I tried to ask here what I could expect in the future.
quoto "speed is not the engine of change" but is not entirely true because, in some way, it is great to account for investments. time is definitely an agent factor in the business economy.

but... .
1) speed is not absolute.. .
2) autocad/proe is not a comparison like ideas/nx.

I try to explain if I can...
speed absolute of a plm is given by so many things that maybe at first you would miss, like the practice on the system... The carry over... normal...
eppoi, remember that speed is nothing without control (pdm)
autocad/proe is an improbable 2d vs 3d comparison.
ideas/nx is a comparison between 2 cad 3d of different generations.

we are going too much on concepts and little on practice... we are on 2 different planets. In all honesty, I feel like talking to a salesman.
However, it was useful as a discussion but I don't think I should continue. I found a method - without even working my employees - to establish in numbers the information I want.
Thank you.

Can you explain? ? ?
it would be really useful to me too, that from time to time I fight back to background "cad" with the various executives. . .

I take 2 similar but not equal projects (which we have already done, one in nx and the other in ideas and we have employed +o- the same time). I choose 2 consultants capable of using nx and ideas in the same way. I mean specialized in both. I ask for 4 offers. prog1 in nx and prog2 in ideas al cons1. prog1 in ideas and prog2 in nx al cons2. I leave them free to evaluate time. In this cross-referenced way you know the software preferences, if there are, and mathematically analyze the changes in percentage to the software change taking into account that the target is not to establish which supplier is faster or cheaper but how much the offer varies to the software. I let you analyze the various cases that may occur because it is longer to write it than to think it.
Bye.

Please.
I work with those who sell nx and ideas... But I'm a technician.
I'm glad you understood everything.
You're good at me... :finger:
Unfortunately, my limited experience tells me that underestimating certain aspects leads to making big mistakes.
but it's definitely my limit.

Hi, I'm not new in spite of the profile.

I take advantage of this discussion to question:

Is there a comparison of time spent on a given project using i-deas nx6 and nx6?

Thank you in advance.
we are migrating from ideas to nx and we have noticed a considerable saving of time in the design of the plates and in the modification of the parts coming from the molder. also the use of part family saves time and the updating of views in the table is faster. we expect to reduce the time by 50%, but this does not tell the technical director!
