Unfortunately the pdm we need and we have recently made the passage from productstrea pro (dismissed in favor of vault) that according to me was the best (in fact originally it was not a autodesk product) to vault pro that really there is to put hands in the hair. the only idea of changing everything again makes me shiver.
in any case even using inventor without vault, in the last two versions it has worsened a lot. heavy and slow, slow.
 
I don't use vault, but the server is all right, both at sw level (o.s.) that hw checked properly?
 
vault I used it on the 2012 and 2014 version in both cases using it with a single project file and everything thrown in...... and the only useful function that comes to mind is the ability to check that account has modified a piece and messed up everything.

with autodesk there will never be solutions but always further problems (see vers.2015) !!!
