imported parts, moving into space

it is trivial but I find no solution
I have a part that composes an object, which consists of several imported parts, 5 or 6, but the object is not oriented as I would like,

attempt 1
with the command moves wheel arrival to place it to 90% using the planes and faces
then when I try to make the last move, using the average point of a segment to bring it to the desired plane, the point makes me select it but does not make me select the plan.

attempt 2
I create new plans set on the points and faces of the imported of my interest
but with moving and turning the planes are not selectable to carry out the movements or rotations, I also tried to draw sketches to be able to use different middle points, but it did not work

Is there another way of orienting or changing the original coordinate system according to the import ?

Thank you.

banal question, why do you have to do it with imported parts?
why not make a set or why not model from scratch with functions?

I would tell you to create points in the well defined and quoted space that will have to correspond to the origins of the piece; this allows you to manage the position with the points odds without having to switch to change the move/wheel.
the orientation instead you will do it with parallelism between the main plans and those of the imported part.

Another solution is to create the three floors in correspondence of where they will have to lie those of the imported parts so that then make them coincide. system that provides for a creation and a caption management not to confuse plans (I would insert them into specific folders as well as allocate them easily identifiable names)

These are triclamp clamps, downloaded, a dozen measures, give them back from scratch even with the recognition of the functions would make me employ a lot of time I don't have.
after all I do not have to make them build, buy them and assemble them to the fittings, there is no real utility in shaping them.

In the end, I solved it with a move-wheel, fortunately I could use points to detect measurements and to put as a result of the movements to measure. and I solved 10 minutes ago.

curiosity. When in a large group I have hundreds of imported parts replicated, the usual 10 but hundreds of times, at the level of PC performance, weigh so much more than the same parts if they were modeled?

I tried to create new plans placed at the points where I would like to be, but move-wheel does not allow me to use them, to bring them conincident to those of the file part

is it no longer convenient to do a set and then save it as a part?

I think they weigh less because they have nothing to be recalculated. you can always do a test by checking the function statistics (under the utility panel) when you have the imported parts and then do a verification by replacing these parts with a model through functions; do not think that it is time thrown away because you permett and to understand qusale of the two roads is better and then manage future projects.

This with the only description of the problem cannot be traced back to the problem.

your solution to insert the part with the imported into a set, place the part correctly, and save the end as the part could be the correct solution.

Thank you.

I am really saying to insert the imported parts into a set by placing them more comfortably with the couplings of together and then save as part.
if you have to insert the part you have already built with the imported, with all the work behind, only to orientate it differently in my opinion is a useless passage

Is that not what I wrote?

"Inserting the part with the imported into the axieme" is not comparable to "inserting the imported into a set" ?

what I call part, the file sldprt, contains only an imported one. .

for me it has a different meaning.
I understand how: insert the part inside which there are the imported parts.
nothing transcendental, just understand.
